Thinking about eye surgery?

I am a family member of a patient that was referred to Dr Bhikoo. I can not speak highly enough of this doctor. He explained everything to my father and myself in a way that we could both understand and why dad would require the surgery. Both before and after the surgery he included me in all discussions, showing and explaining the scans. Thank you Dr Bhikoo for your professionalism and caring nature. Anyone needing a fantastic ophthalmologist I recommend him 100%.

I was extremely nervous when I was first told I may require surgery on my eye to repair a tear in my Macular, as I have had eye trouble all my life and very little vision in the eye that needed operated on. I was referred to Dr Bhikoo and wow what an amazing experience. From my first visit he made me feel calmer, explaining everything in terms that I could understand. Dr Bhikoo’s professionalism and caring nature is outstanding, and I would highly recommend/refer him to anyone.

The entire visit was top class, from the time it took to be seen, the wonderful receptionist/assistant and of course Dr. Bhikoo. He was personable, friendly and extremely professional, He provided me with information as I requested it was quick to reassure me when necessary, (I was very nervous at first), but his calm demeanour and evident professionalism, reassured me almost immediately. All in all a top class Dr, excellent experience. Would have no qualms at all about recommending him!

Dr. Bhikoo performed laser surgeries on both of my eyes for a detached retina. I was extremely nervous/squeamish about these operations and he took the time to empathetically explain what he was doing and why. He also was just very calm throughout and his calmness helped me calm down too. For each surgery, he talked me through the entire procedure which helped tremendously. I can’t thank Dr. Bhikoo enough for his care. I wouldn’t wish for anyone to have to need this surgery, but if you do, his skill, professionalism, and genuine empathy and care made it a lot easier to go through. I feel very lucky to have had him for my doctor. I wish he was staying in Canada!

I cannot say enough about the skill and professionalism of Dr Bhikoo. I was so fortunate to have him as my Dr for my emergency eye surgery. It has been an incredibly trying ten months for me, having undergone five separate procedures to re-attach my retina. Dr Bhikoo was remarkably supportive and persistent throughout this period. I met Dr Bhikoo at the Royal Perth Hospital Eye Clinic. He performed laser on my eyes and also did both my eyes with cataracts he was very reassuring on the procedure. Talked to me through the whole surgery and was explaining everything as he did it Which was very reassuring and I felt that I was in good hands.He is very confident and great at his job .I would highly recommend him.

Dr Bhikoo performed 3 eye surgeries, Detached Retina and Cataract Surgery on both eyes. I found him to be extremely professional. I was well informed on what to expect and he made me feel at ease and very confident that he knew what he was doing. Dr Bhikoo performed successful emergency surgery on my badly detached retina. Very approachable, I could ask questions without feeling stupid and the answers were clear. This is definitely the doctor I would want to see for any further eye emergencies.

I have been in the care of Dr Bhikoo for the past ten months since a bad eye injury in July 2019 with an elastic strap dislocating the lens. He performed 4 hours of surgery over two separate occasions. The results have been fantastic – i have good vision restored and brightness greatly improved. Hi , for a long time ive had visual aura’s and dark area’s in my left eye , turns out to be a retinal detachment which i had never heard of , being sent to see Riyaz i was promptly admitted for surgery , during all of this i was under his wing , he took great care and his colleges to discuss what was going to be done and every appointment was the same he keeps you informed of what should happen , what to do , any problem’s – call , he explains in a calm manner and very professional and i recommend Riyaz highly and he would be an asset to any surgery .
